It’s Fall!
I love The Fall. As a matter of fact I think I enjoy the fall and the spring better than any of the other seasons but especially Fall. There’s something about there being a little chill in the air, wearing a sweater, seeing the leaves change… We live in the woods so I get to see alot of leaves. lol
The picnic this October was fun. It seems as though everyone had a good time. Well, there were a few exceptions I suppose. I got scolded once or twice for something I did or didn’t do. lol Someone yelled at me because I didn’t sing a song they requested on a previous night. Then a week or so after the picnic I received an e-mail and was told someone was angry with me because in my mingling, I didn’t come over and say hello to her. As I read the e-mail I wondered what they were doing while they were at the picnic. Were they just sitting there stewing about how I hadn’t come over to say hello yet? If I missed them, (which is easy to do because I’m only one person) why didn’t they come over and say hello to me? I must admit, many times, after a picnic or other events, I hear what I can only describe as “bitching” from some of the fan club. I do my best to sing all of the reqests I get (but I can’t always) and I do my best to visit with everyone, but I miss some from time to time. Many time I fall short of doing all that is expected but I ask you to have patience with me. I do appreciate each one of you but I am only one person. I know in your mind, your request is most important but I am trying to treat everyone with the same importance. It is frustrating sometimes because it seems at times that my best is not good enough. If because of that I have hurt your feelings somehow, I ask that you try to understand and put yourself in my shoes. I haven’t done it to intentionally hurt you.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner. We’ll be at home and having some friends from out of town over. I think Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It’s a great family time. I hope that yours will be a wonderful time as well.
By the way, some of you may have noticed that I have recently removed my “Myspace” accounts. I know they were fun to look at but I couldn’t keep up with taking care of them as well as my web page. So I think I’m just going to narrow things down and take care of my web page. I will be adding some video and pictures as of course you can post comments here anytime you like. I realize it’s not part of a “community” but I trust it will provide you with the information that is important and that you are looking for.
I guess that’s it for now. Be well and hopefully I will see you soon.
All my best,
Lou

I think sometimes we Lou Vuto fans forget how fortunate we are are to have someone share so much of themselves with his fans! We take things for granted and don’t realize how lucky we are to get 2 picnics a year with Lou or have one on one time with Lou. I remember my first time at Memories Theatre. I was shocked that they even allowed song requests. And even more shocked when Lou did the song I wanted (HA)(HA) POLK SALAD ANNIE………..Let’s try to remember that Lou is only human and try to extend some of the effort towards him that he extends to all of us! I can tell you this though..let me be anywhere near Lou Vuto and I will be sure to talk to him! His choice or mine…It’s Happening!
Think what all of our lives would be like without Lou Vuto and appreciate the wonderful memories we have because of him and the dear friends we have made because he is willing to share his life with his fans!

Hi Lou,
I just wanted to say that in all the years I’ve been coming to the picnics you’ve never disappointed me. If I want to speak to you I get up and do it. We’ve made a lot of great friends because of you and the fan club and it is always fun to visit with everyone. I think you do a tremendous job trying to please all of us. I know how hard it must be. Yes, you are just one person and I personally appreciate you and what you do so very much. We are still planning on seeing you in WV in January. I truly hope it snows but not enough to ground the plane! It was very exciting for us last year to see all the snow. If there is snow this year I’m stopping the car and making a snow angel on the side of the road. We pitiful Georgia girls don’t see much of it. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. We are truly thankful for you so just keep doing what you are doing.

Hi, Lou,
I think you do a great job, with the fan club member, at the picnic, and at the shows. Remember, you can’t please everyone. Fall is my favorite time of the year. I wish I could come to see you more often, but circumstances prevent it. I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving. Oh, by the way I had a great time at the pinic. Hope to see you soon.

Nice to hear from you again Lou. I’ll be coming to Pigeon Forge in June so we’ll definitely be going to Memories!

Mr. Vuto,
It made me sad to read your last blog at the worries that your last picnic left on your heart..I’m sure that the majority of your fan club truly appreciates the time that you give them both on and off of the stage. I hope that you take to heart what Ms.Kim Woodyard said in her message.
I have not had the pleasure of attending a picnic as of yet but hope to once I become a member. I have it on good authority from Grace and Lois from Georgia that I’m missing out on some fun times at your picnics! I do, however, get to see you quite often on stage. My friend and I get to Pigeon Forge as often as we can, sometimes once a month, and our trip isn’t complete unless we stop in at Memories Theatre to watch you and the rest of the performers. My friend and her husband are retired teachers, (the school system can’t get by without me just yet) but he is more than willing to let me take her off of his hands to come spend a night or two with you guys! LOL
Try not to worry (but with a big heart as you have, I’m sure you will) about what you’re doing or not doing because of hurting someone’s feelings. True friends and fans will appreciate the time you do give!
See ya for New Years and for the Birthday Bash (Good Lord willing and the weather holds out!)
God Bless your family during the holidays!

We were just reading your blog and would like to say that you do a wonderful job. You can only do so much and it is up to your fan club members to do the rest. We were able to talk to you but, we had the knowledge and forethought to come to you as you seem to be bombarded (which would make it hard to get around to everyone). Perhaps these so called “fans” would be happier if you had them all line up and shake your hand. LOL They have to realize that this then takes the personal time away which they should feel priviledged to have.
Don’t take these comments from them to heart…you do the best you can! If they can’t get up and come to you (especially since you took the time to come to the picnic for them) then they just need to keep their comments to themselves.
You are an awesome guy and we feel priviledged to know you! You are a real blessing to us and we love you very much!
We are looking forward to seeing you at the New Years Show and the Birthday Bash!

Diane & Penny

Hello Lou: Sorry we could not make it to the fall picinic. We actually think you go overboard for your fans and it takes lot’s of energy and patience to do this. Sometimes the more you give, the more they want and expect. I don’t know of any other entertainer who shares themselves with their fans. How lucky we are. Thank you. Just wanted to express our sentiments regarding your last blog. Those disgruntled fans are surely in the minority; most feel it an honor and privllege to spend time with you at the picnics even if no “one-on-one” time is given; simply being in your company or seeing you across the room brings them great joy. To the fans we would say, Lou certainly would never do anything to hurt feelings and endeavors to spend time with each and every person in attendance, and, if you will recall, he does open the door for picture taking or autographs or to simply come up to chat with him, and he stays until the last person leaves, so everyone has the opportunity to speak with Lou. Remember, Lou gives up his own personal time to spend it at the picnics, and he enjoys doing so; we just need to remember how very special that is How many entertainers devote so much time and give so much to fans; I know of none where the actual “honoree” attends the fan club social functions. So, let’s try to show more appreciation for what he gives and what he does. Most fan club members, obviously, admire and love Lou and, at the same time, we all want that special individual attention which he does give so freely; just remember he can give only so much especially when there are more than 150 people present. I have witnessed his visiting each table at the picnics and his attempts to spend time with everyone; if someone is left out, it is completely unintentional. Lou cares about his fans and appreciates the support throughout the years given from each and every one of those fans and, indeed, is a very caring, loving person who wants only the best for all. So, fans, come and enjoy the fan club events; and, Lou, know that we love you more than we can express.

I was just catching up on reading your blogs and was astonished that someone would actually email you give you heck because you didn’t greet them personally at the picnic. You always do a great job of mingling and try to make the rounds to everyone but everyone wants a piece of your time and it’s impossible to speak to everyone every time. I for one appreciate the time you devote to the fans and appreciate you and Cindy giving up your personal time so we can have a little more time with you. As for requesting a song, I have requested several that you have not been able to perform (because my request was late) but I still love ya. lol You take care and keep on keeping on and we will still be there to spport you.

My family and I have been coming to the Mtns. for years. For the past several years your show and you have been as large part of our return visits, You have brought Elvis back to life for me. You are without a doubt the best entertainer that I have ever seen. Since I first saw your show it is now the ONLY show that we see and that is every night that we are in the Mnts.I am sure that God has a plan for you and we will follow you and your show where ever you go,Any one would be a fool to let your talent go to waste. I will never support the Titanic or any of there enterprises and Im sure there are lots of people that feel the same way as i do.You, Dee and your whole crew are in my prayers. Please don’t give up hope. We are all feeling sorry for ourselves that we are losing you and your show, but this is your life and your job that we should all be worrying about.Im sure there is light at the end of this dark tunnel and all your fans will be waiting for you there, don’t give up we love you and we need you and your beautiful talented voice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
