The Show, Memories and Podcasts
Sitting at my desk having coffee and thought I would drop you a few lines. All is well here. Tim McGraw and Roy Ordison just arrived last night so we have a change in the show line up. It’s been about 2 years since Larry has been here and it’s good to see him. Larry was one of the original line up that we had when we started the legends show in May of 2000. If I remember correctly, besides Elvis it was Buddy Holly, The Blues Brothers, Roy Orbison, Kenny Rogers and Patsy Cline. Although that’s 5 acts and normally we had four others. I don’t know, maybe The Blues Brothers came a few months later. Of course the Elvis show was going on long before the legends show. Memories opened it’s doors with the Elvis show in October of 1990 with Eddie Miles, after Eddie left; Pete Wilcoxx came in and then me. I arrived in November of 1995 although I came in for three days as an audition in October of 1995. So I guess I’ve been performing in this area for almost 14 years now. Whew, I feel old. lol No, not really. I was only 15 when I started. NOT! Anyway, I have a question for you…do you know what a podcast is? It’s a audio or video show that gets posted on the internet that you subscribe to and everytime a new episode is posted it automatically uploads to your computer and you can listen to it or watch it, whatever the case may be. My experience with it is somewhat limited but I am trying to learn about it because I’d like to do a podcast. The extent of my knowledge right now is with ITunes. ITunes is a progam that is free to download and it allows you to watch Video, Listen to music, subscibe to podcasts and a bunch of other stuff. Those of you who have an IPod know about it but I don’t think you have to have an IPod to have it on your computer. I could be wrong. I have been before. Well, I’m trying to figure that all out because I would like to do the podcast thing, so you may be hearing more about that soon. Well, that’s it for now. Hope all is well with you and yours and I hope to see you soon. Take care and let us hear from you…you know by commenting on this blog. Love to all! Lou

Lou, your the person that got me hooked on Elvis! I saw you in June of 2008 and that’s when it all began…now Elvis is the main singer I listen to. I’m sure you’ll figure out the podcast thing. =) I just wanted to tell you how great you are and all. I’ve been having some trouble with your video blog though. It’s something about the plugin and stuff. I don’t know, I’ll figure it out. I hope to go back to TN and see you next summer. Hope you and your family are all doing well and it’s great to hear from you on your blog.

Hey Lou,
Havent had a chance to catch the show for awhile but its good to see you’ve started a blog. You’re still ahead of me with your knowledge of ipods so if you do figure out the pod casts stuff be sure to let all of us know. Yeah Memories has been around a while. I remember going to one of the first shows when Eddie was there, me and my buddy snuck in and got caught. Its a funny story I’ll tell you some time. I’ve been coming back ever since and its just gotten better each year.
Christy and I will be up to see ya soon.

I went to Gatlinburg in 1984 when I was 12 on a family vacation. My aunt was an Elvis fan and I barely knew who he was. My aunt wanted to go to the Elvis museum and we did. I was fascinated by all the Elvis artifacts. I loved the rings, the cars, and the music! Later that week I saw that an ETA was performing in town by the name of Ronnie Speaks. I begged my mom to go (she’s a Tom Jones fan) and we went. When I saw the jewel encrusted suit, heard the great band, and saw the girls going crazy, I was hooked! Ronnie was a great tribute artist and he even signed the record I bought. When I got home I found the only eight track tape of Elvis my mom had with Elvis’ Golden Hits. On it were “Surrender”, Fame and Fortune”, and “Stuck On You” to name a few. I wore that tape out! I finally got to go to Graceland in 1987. Anyway, I saw Pete Wilcox the first time I went to Memories and then I saw you. I have seen you perform on every trip since when I go to the Smoky Mountains and you are not only a great ETA, but a great talent in your own right. Keep it up Lou, Elvis and Charlie are proud of you!

Hey Lou, Just wanted to say hello and that we are looking forward to the picnic and shows end of Oct. I don’t anything about podcast but I’m looking forward to hearing more about it. Our first time at Memories Theatre was May 1991. Saw Eddie Miles a few times. Then we went again and Pete Wilcox was there. We only saw him 2 0r 3 times, then we came back and he was gone. After that it has been LOU. We have really enjoyed coming to your shows where ever they were these last years and are looking forward to many more. Take care and keep on doing what you’re doing. We love you. Polly and Don

Hi,
Is everyone getting excited about the picnic? Sharon and I are counting down. I hope the lady with the peanut butter cake is there. I’ve tried and can’t get my cake to tast like hers, yummy!!! Lou, I’m hoping you will sing “Kentucky Rain” while we are there, I love it and haven’t heard you do it in awhile. We are leaving in 11 days. See you all then.

You should start posting blogs more often. I still can’t get the video blog thing to work though. I found out recently that I might be coming to see you next June! I’m very excited about it.
